The village of Rychnov nad Malší lies about 2.5 km northeast of the town of Dolní Dvořiště in the Český Krumlov district, at an elevation of 575 m. Its history dates back to the 14th century. The most famous landmark is the Church of St. Andrew. This originally Gothic structure was rebuilt in the early 18th century.
Svatý Kámen in South Bohemia is a remarkable pilgrimage site on the border between the Šumava Mountains and the Novohrad region. Currently, regular pilgrimage masses are held here on the first Saturday of every month, except in August. Its origins date back to the early 16th century, when a legend emerged about a split boulder where the Virgin Mary appeared.
The ruins of Louzek Castle are situated on a rocky promontory above the Malší River, surrounded by picturesque meadows and forests. The castle was built at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries as a guard fortress along the old trade route from České Budějovice to Austria.
The newly renovated tower of the fortress in Tichá is 28 meters high and is the southernmost castle observation tower in the Czech Republic. It offers beautiful views of the Šumava and Novohradské Mountains. The fortress is located about 5 km southeast of Dolní Dvořiště.
Lesy ČR has completed the renovation of the legendary horse-drawn railway building near Dolní Dvořiště. The nature trail follows part of the route of the former České Budějovice–Linz horse-drawn railway and features an information panel at the renovated railway building.
The small town of Rožmberk, situated at the border between the Šumava and Novohradské Mountains, is known for its border crossing into Austria. The dominant feature is the parish church of St. Giles on the town square, a significant monument of late Rožmberk Gothic architecture listed as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 1958.
The nearly 30-meter-tall observation tower stands on Hradišťský Hill near Kaplice (774 m). The observation deck is 28 meters high and is reached by climbing 149 steps. On a clear day, you can see the Alps, Kleť, Plechý, and the Novohradské Mountains.
The medieval castle on the left bank of the Malše River has had a turbulent history. The complex includes a medieval blacksmith’s workshop, and during the season it hosts reenactments, concerts, workshops, and culinary events.
The Kaplice Outdoor Swimming Pool offers recreational activities, a children's pool, a larger pool with a slide, and a 200-meter-long main pool for adults.

The Lipno Reservoir is the largest artificial lake in the Czech Republic and is rightly called the “South Bohemian Sea.” It stretches 44 km in length and offers a wide range of year-round activities for families.
The dam was built between 1971 and 1978 to serve as a source of drinking water for České Budějovice. The dam is 47.5 meters high, and the reservoir covers an area of 210 hectares.
The majestic castle and chateau complex dominates the historic town, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
One of the oldest castles in South Bohemia stands on a narrow promontory above the Vltava River. It dates back to the mid-13th century and is one of the oldest castles of the Vítkovec family.
